2024 Young Conductors' Conference Closing Concert & The MOST PROMISING ORCHESTRA CONDUCTING FELLOW Award Presentation

The inaugural "2024 Young Conductors' Conference - Orchestral Conducting Workshop" presented by the Conducting Division of the School of Music is approaching its end. The closing concert & award presentation of the conference will be held on November 2nd at 19:30, showcasing the outstanding performances and achievements of the conducting fellows.
Over the three days, several conducting fellows, under the extraordinary guidance of four renowned Maestros Xieyang CHEN, Yong-yan HU, Daye LIN, and Ming LIU, have deepened their understanding of music content through conducting masterclass and two intensive days of orchestra rehearsals. They gained confidence and courage from the workshop and fully showcased their vibrant artistic talents. In the closing concert of the conference, they will share with the audience their interpretations of music as they conduct the orchestra. Among these, Brahms' "Variations on a Theme by Haydn" permeates the classical elegance of Haydn's theme with eight variations plus a final coda that reflects the most touching romantic nuances of Brahms. Meanwhile, Dvo?¨¢k's Symphony No. 8 in G Major weaves through natural scenes in four movements, constantly provoking his thoughts on humanity and emotion. These two works undoubtedly provide ample materials for the conducting fellows to express their own. The jury will select one conducting fellow from the concert and present the award of "The Most Promising Orchestral Conducting Fellow at the 2024 Young Conductors' Conference".
We sincerely welcome all music enthusiasts to attend and join the joyous vibe of this memorable ending. Please note that due to limited seating, advance registration is required. Please scroll down for specific registration information.
