The DMus in Music Performance Programme aims to train and develop students’ advanced performing skills with the high competence and artistry. Students will be equipped with a solid performance and academic background in interpreting music from different historical styles periods and cultures. They will possess both technical skills and academic knowledge in selected music areas so as to perform as a conductor, soloist, chamber, and orchestral player, etc. They will also be capable of teaching in music conservatories and universities at an international standard. They will help develop a modern music culture for the GBA region and China as a whole.
The DMus in Music Composition and Theory Programme is designed to deepen students’ comprehensive understanding of professional knowledge of composition and composition theory. It emphasizes the integration of Chinese and Western cultures within composition theory. The Programme aims to guide students in exploring the cutting-edge advancements in the discipline, and it strives to cultivate innovative students with strong creative and theoretical abilities.
