Departmental Meetings for Construction and Development of School of Music
Recently, Xiaogang YE, founding dean of the School of Music of the Chinese University of Hong Kong (Shenzhen), presided over a series of meetings at the dean’s office. The meetings mainly discussed the School’s construction and development in the second semester of the 2021-2022 academic year. Members of Dean’s Office, Finance Office, Admissions Office, Human Resources Office, Research Administration Office, Registry Office, Student Affairs Office, Publicity Office, Performance Office, General Office, Music Library and more participated in the meetings.
After listening to the member’s report, Dean YE noted that “As a member of the School, we must benchmark the world-class standards of establishing an international training system for cultivating musical talents, keep improving, pursue excellence, and strive for perfection!”
Meeting with Admissions Office
At the meeting with Admissions Office, Dean YE emphasized the importance of admissions as it represents the School’s accomplishments. Therefore, the admissions work should be forward-looking, highlighting the School’s characteristics and faculty advantages. It’s expected that about 100 undergraduate and graduate students will be enrolled in the School this year.
Meeting with Human Resources Office
At the meeting with the Human Resources Office, Dean YE noted, “Human Resources Office is one of the most essential departments of the School. At present, the School has recruited a number of distinguished artists around the world, and formed the very first faculty team of the School of Music.”
Meeting with Registry Office
At the meeting with Registry Office, Dean YE pointed out that teaching quality is the foundation and core of the School, and is the prerequisite for building the School of Music into an international, innovative, world-class art institution.
The departmental meetings were held at a critical point in the development of the School of Music. As Dean YE highlighted at the meetings, “In order to realize the beautiful vision and blueprint of the School of Music, all members must keep in mind our mission, unite as one, work hard, and forge ahead together!”
